Delete your Free Your Stuff account

If you do not have access to the app

First enter the email address of your account above. You can then submit the deletion request directly through this page. This also works if your device was lost, the app was uninstalled, you are on a new device, your app login does not work, or you cannot open the app for another reason.

Please send the request from the email address you used to create your Free Your Stuff account if possible. That is the simplest and fastest verification.

Never send your password. We do not ask for passwords and do not need complete identity documents for normal deletion requests.

Delete directly in the app

1. Open Free Your Stuff and sign in.
2. Open your profile or settings.
3. Select “Delete account”.
4. Confirm the security prompt in the app.

If the app sends you to this website or the in-app route does not work for you, you can always use the email request above. You do not need to reinstall the app to request deletion.

Verification and special cases

To protect against unauthorized deletion, we check whether the request actually comes from the affected person.

• If the request comes from the registered email address, we confirm deletion through that address.
• If you no longer have access to the registered email address, we may ask for additional account-related information, such as display name, approximate last use, places or titles of your listings, open pickups, or previous support communication.
• If identity cannot be confirmed plausibly enough, we will not delete the account immediately and will explain what further verification is possible.

This check is intended to prevent third parties from deleting other people's accounts. It is not an attempt to make deletion unnecessarily difficult.

Processing the request

Technically, the account is deleted in Appwrite and the related Free Your Stuff data collections, or anonymized where complete deletion is not possible or not permitted. Mere deactivation, suspension, or “freezing” of the account does not replace deletion.

Which data is deleted

For a confirmed account deletion, we remove personal data connected to your app account unless a legal or security-related retention obligation applies.

Backups are not actively reused and are overwritten within regular backup cycles. If legal obligations require longer retention of individual data, we restrict use of that data to the respective mandatory purpose.

Services and third parties

Free Your Stuff uses Appwrite as its backend. Where personal data is processed by service providers as part of app operation, we delete the data in our systems and, where required, initiate the corresponding deletion or anonymization with the service providers used.
